To all incoming Scripps students and the Claremont Colleges Class of 2015,
Welcome to campus! You are in high demand among the various economic departments and student organizations and we are here to supply the perfect academic and social outlet for you at Scripps College. The Scripps College Economics Society would like to offer you a warm welcome to your new home-away-from home.
As you attempt to pick classes for the coming semester, the options may seem endless and even a bit overwhelming. Luckily, it is hard to go wrong amongst the many wonderful classes offered with renowned facility members in each department at Scripps. However, one department provides functional education alongside kind and interesting faculty members and students – The Economics Department.
The Economics Department at Scripps has seen quite a bit of growth over the past few years and excels in the teaching of economic techniques and analysis to Claremont Colleges students interested in the social sciences. We encourage you to consider registering for Economics 51 (Introduction to Macroeconomics) with Professor Odell or Economics 52 (Introduction to Microeconomics) with Professor Chaudhary in your first semester if you’d like to introduce yourself to the tools of economic analysis. If you have any questions about course offerings, professors or even the career prospects the field of Economics provides, please feel free to contact us at any time. You may visit our website to learn more about the Economics Society and the Economics Program at Scripps or contact us via email at any time. Also, look out for the Scripps College Economics Society over the first few weeks to register as a member of our CLORG! We look forward to seeing how your talent makes a mark on our beautiful campus!
