Meet the Bloggers

Fall 2018 Bloggers

Ryan is a Junior at Scripps, double majoring in Theatre and Organizational Studies. She is from Los Angeles, California, but rarely makes the drive home due to her well-packed schedule. On campus, Ryan works at the Seaver Theatre at Pomona, on leadership for the Black Student Union on campus, Watu Weusi, and works at OSE. Currently, Ryan is preparing her application for study abroad in London in Spring of 2019. Until then, Ryan will be keeping herself busy by stage managing Midsummer Night’s Dream at Pomona and maybe a little hiking. In the future, she hopes to be heavily involved in creative fields. She hopes to mix together her love of creativity with her love of research and management in the future.

Theodora is a first-year at Scripps and is a proud New Yorker. She is most likely going to major  in English, while also exploring other disciplines including philosophy and French here at the 5  C’s. She can usually be found with an iced coffee in one hand–black and unsweetened–and with  a pen in the other. Theodora loves to take photos with her friends to document memories, often  in the nostalgic record that is her bullet journal. She creates and sells feminist stickers at MoMA  PS1 in New York, and worked at a stationery store last summer. In her spare time, you can find Theodora reading in one of Scripps’ numerous secluded and scenic study  spaces.

Theresa or ‘Theri’ is a Junior transfer student majoring in Politics and Latin American studies. For the past two years she has attended the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University. Theri loved her friends and teachers at NYU, but decided to come back West for the sunshine and to be closer to her family who live in Los Angeles, where she grew up.  Theri works as the press assistant in the art department for director of the Scripps College Press, Tia Blassingame, as well as the Information Technology department. She believes these two jobs should earn her enough to cover her daily caffeine addiction, although, she is not yet entirely convinced. In her free time (which is looking increasingly minimal this semester) she likes to rock climb and play the guitar. In the future, she hopes to go to law school in order to pursue her passion for human rights.
