This is often true because of our Claremont College bubble and our near-empty bank accounts, but there are many easy ways to find a yummy, healthier alternative to dining-hall food. One way is to walk or bike to Trader Joe\u2019s on Foothill Bou\u00adlevard, where you will find a grocery store filled with delicious and healthy food.<\/p>\n<p>Of the many great options, we have found three nutritious snacks that can be eaten during the day. So, instead of getting food from one of the Clare\u00admont College caf\u00e9s (or making Easy Mac in your dorm room), grab something healthy from Trader Joe\u2019s. The following items are easy to store in a fridge and make whenever you are out of meals or if your flex dollars seem to be quickly disappearing or gone&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Morning Snack <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yogurt and granola bar<\/p>\n<p>Cost: $2.49<\/p>\n<p>Yogurt: 11 grams of protein per serving<\/p>\n<p>Granola: 7 grams of fiber per serving<\/p>\n<p><strong>Afternoon Snack <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chicken wrap with pesto vinaigrette<\/p>\n<p>Cost: $3.99<\/p>\n<p>Chicken: 26 grams of protein per serving<\/p>\n<p>Wrap: 63 grams of carbohydrates per serving<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dinner Appetizer <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A French-style flat bread with ham, caramelized onions and Gruy\u00e8re cheese<\/p>\n<p>Cost: $4.39<\/p>\n<p>Ham and Gruy\u00e8re: 8 grams of protein per serving<\/p>\n<p>Thin wheat crust: 11 grams of carbohydrates per serving<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes when we think of healthy foods, phrases such as time-consuming, hard-to-find and expensive come to mind.
