The Tests &amp; Quizzes functionality is generally underused by faculty members even though it is a useful way of controlling the test-taking environment. Timed exams are one way to control the accessibility and functionality of online test-taking and as we race to Finals Week, it is only fitting to provide you with this tip.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open Sakai<\/li>\n<li>Click Tests &amp; Quizzes (found on the left-hand side Menu).<\/li>\n<li>Name your &#8216;Assessment&#8217; then choose &#8216;Assessment Type&#8217;; set this to &#8216;Timed&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>Click Settings<\/li>\n<li>Based on your preferences, set the start and end times of the assessment<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Note: this can also work for essay-prompts, file downloads, etc. Therefore, students can have access to specific information that you provide.<\/p>\n<p>There are so many more functions and ways to personalize (and even create test types on Sakai!) and we encourage you to explore these next semester as well!<\/p>\n<p>Have a wonderful Winter Break and we will see you next semester!<\/p>\n<p>Signing out &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>IT-FITS<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello from the IT-FITS team!
