{"id":447,"date":"2012-12-04T22:49:41","date_gmt":"2012-12-04T22:49:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/community.scrippscollege.edu\/itfits\/?p=447"},"modified":"2012-12-04T22:51:55","modified_gmt":"2012-12-04T22:51:55","slug":"using-dropbox-com","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/community.scrippscollege.edu\/itfits\/using-dropbox-com\/","title":{"rendered":"Using Dropbox.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/community.scrippscollege.edu\/itfits\/using-dropbox-com\/screen-shot-2012-12-04-at-2-49-18-pm\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-448\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-448\" title=\"Screen shot 2012-12-04 at 2.49.18 PM\" src=\"https:\/\/community.scrippscollege.edu\/itfits\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/12\/Screen-shot-2012-12-04-at-2.49.18-PM-300x81.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"81\" \/><\/a>You are probably familiar with Dropbox on Sakai, but there is another Dropbox you may not be so familiar with \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/\">dropbox.com<\/a>.\u00a0 Dropbox is an online file storage and file sharing service, and it\u2019s free for up to 2 GB of space (you can get more free space for doing small things like getting a friend to join, for example).\u00a0 It works like a flashdrive, so that if you delete older files you can continue storing more files on it.<\/p>\n<p>Download Dropbox to your home computer, follow the program\u2019s instructions, and it will act like a regular folder on your own computer, but better \u2013 anything you save to the Dropbox will be available online through dropbox.com.\u00a0 (You will need your internet on so it can sync.)\u00a0 You can also upload documents to dropbox.com anywhere and they will be available in your Dropbox folder when you get home.
