from the hem of my skin,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

and start unstitching\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

myself. The split travels fast<\/span><\/p>\n

through the epidermis,<\/span><\/p>\n

revealing every itch from the past,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

every future scratched by the hand<\/span><\/p>\n

of loss, now arduous rashes ingrained\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

deep within myself resurfacing.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

First, pure agony, a repressed roar<\/span><\/p>\n

piercing the air, then the healing burn<\/span><\/p>\n

of tears on exposed flesh, like alcohol on\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

an open wound. A sigh. Relief.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The kind that makes one realize<\/span><\/p>\n

it\u2019s fine.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It gets better. <\/span><\/i>I pull and pull<\/span><\/p>\n

the thread further until the pile\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

on deck becomes as tall as the ship,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

the sail of which I sew with my tender\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

remains and set out on a trip, unafraid,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
