IT-FITS, or Faculty Instructional Technology Support, is part of the Information Technology Department. It is a student-run and operated service available exclusively for faculty.
Description: Student Instructional Technology Assistants (ITAs) offer training in programs such as GroupWise, Sakai, the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), Microsoft Office, and more. We also provide website services.
Opportunities: As an ITA in IT-FITS, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop yourself in many ways. You can plan your own outreach initiatives, lead workshops for faculty and staff, design flyers, and more! There are also resources available in the lab, such as Adobe Suite manuals, for you to further your own tech education.
As an ITA myself, I (Caroline) have enjoyed connecting with faculty over technology. It is fulfilling to help faculty become more tech-savvy and know that your work is impacting Scripps students’ classroom experience.
