Sakai

  • How do I upload files or links?
    • Click on the class you wish to submit a file for and then click on the “Drop Box” tab on the left hand side. On the row that shows your name and email hyperlinked, click on the “Actions” button. You will get a dropdown menu that allows you to “upload files,” “add web links,” etc.
  • How can I view the classes I should be enrolled in?
    • Next to your name in the top-right hand corner, click the “Sites” icon. You will see all the Sakai sites for the classes you are currently enrolled in. To ensure they all appear on your Sakai page, click the star icon next to the classes you wish to see on your homepage. To officially confirm the classes you are enrolled in, go to the student portal and click on the “Student” tab.
Duo

  • How does Duo Authentication work?
    • When logging into Scripps related websites and accounts, you will need to verify your identity using Duo Authentication. This can be done using your phone and downloading the Duo app. When prompted, you’ll receive a push notification (so make sure these are on) that you can click on to approve or deny the login request.
  • How do I use a new device (e.g. new phone) with Duo?

Class Registration Portal

  • Once you are logged in, click the “Student” tab 
    • See the classes you are registered for during the current academic term.
    • Scroll down to see your “Student Profile” which informs you of your ID number, mailbox number and password, declared majors and minors, and advisor(s).
    • Scroll down to “Student Resources” to find a link to faculty office hours
    • The tab menu on the left includes important links to CashNet, Unofficial Transcript, and Degree Audit, and Student PERM.
  • When can you PERM?
    • For a class that is only open to another campus’ students
    • For a class that requires instructor permission
    • To get into a full class or a closed class
  • How to write a PERM?
    • Concisely summarize the main objective as to why you want the class (GE, major, or minor requirement), any previous experience with the topic, people who have referred you to the class, or other outside interests. Follow up with an email!
  • How do I see my course registration time?
    • When we approach course registration time, click the “Student” tab on the portal. Your time should appear in the “Add/Drop Courses” box at the top of the page when you 
    • To see your time before it appears at the aforementioned location, you have to click the “Student” tab on the portal and then click the “Course Search” link. Change the “Term” drop down menu to the upcoming term you want to register for. Then click the “add/drop courses” link to navigate to a page with your registration time.
  • How to get a class to double count?
    • If the class can double count for only two GEs and you need both, then it will automatically double count on your degree audit
    • If the class can count for multiple GEs (2+), you need to inform the Registrar about which GEs you want the class to count for.
    • If you are trying to get a class to double count for a GE and your major, speak to your major advisor.
    • If you are trying to get a class to double count for your major and minor or for two majors, speak to your major(s) and minor(s) advisors accordingly and submit this preference in your major(s) and minor(s) declaration forms.

  • How can I print from my dorm?
  • Where can I print in color?
    • All dorms include color printing. The computer lab in Steele (226) also includes color printing.
  • How do I login to computers in the dorm computer labs?
    • You can use your Scripps login credentials, and may be directed to CAS authorization. If you’re on a Mac, you may be prompted to re enter your Scripps password again after first entering your full credentials, this is normal.
  • How do I connect to the Wi-Fi? Which network do I use?
    • You can use your Scripps login credentials to login to Claremont WPA. If it’s not working, try resetting your Scripps password through your outlook email. The college is outfitted with campus-wide wireless access based on the latest 802.11ac standard.
  • How do I get help from the Scripps IT department?
