Almost everyone involved with a college, whether student or faculty member, must at some point make use of the library. Sometimes it can be daunting, but you can meet a lot of your needs without even stepping away from your desk. The Claremont Colleges library website is here, and you can search for books, find articles, and read e-books. The front page is your main navigation tool.
Search for books (physical and electronic) by typing your query directly in the search field and clicking Search. The Location and Call Number sections of the book listing, used with the Honnold/Mudd Library Directory, will help you locate a physical book. Related topics tend to be nearby.
Search for academic journal articles by subject or title by clicking on Database or Electronic Journals. If you aren’t sure where to begin, make use of the library’s fantastic Research Guides, linked here. If your article isn’t available immediately, click the Get This Item icon and request an Electronic Delivery/Interlibrary Loan. Your article should arrive in a few days – be sure to access it soon, because it will only be available for a limited time due to copyright issues. Save it to your computer to ensure your continued access.
Note that the library has recently changed its password policy for using its computers. Make sure that your password fulfills these requirements, or you will be unable to log in:
- Password must be 6 to 11 characters long, and include:
- At least one UPPERCASE letter
- At least one lowercase letter
- At least one number (1, 2, 3) or symbol (@, #, &)
