Codecademy is a website dedicated to teaching people how to code, offering plenty of interactive courses for computer languages like Java, HTML, Python and Ruby. The courses are aimed at beginners, so each lesson builds off the previous ones. Signing up is free, so give it a try, and see if you like building programs.

You don’t have to create an account if you just want to sample the lessons, but you will want one to save your progress if you choose to continue.
