Every year Google loves to tease its users with various pranks for April Fools Day. This year was particularly full of silly tricks.

One of the most popular was the Google Maps Pokémon Challenge. Using an iOS or Android smartphone, users could go on a global scavenger hunt to ‘capture’ the characters from the popular video game and television franchise.

Google’s email service, Gmail, also announced the fake ‘Shelfie’ service (shareable selfie) where you can set pictures of yourself as the background to your emails.

Google Japan announced a new imaginary product, the ‘Magic Hand’, that would allow users to program mechanical appendages to operate your smart device.
