What were the ITAs up to this summer?  Well…

1658432_755893197756299_494472765_oAlicen: This summer I interned at a Startup Incubator called Idealab that was started by a HMC Alum’s father. Before that I studied abroad for 5 months in the lovely green country of Ireland, where I hope to return one day!  I learned a lot about myself and being independent, and have now been bitten by the travel bug.

ch Caroline: This past summer, I had the opportunity to work in downtown L.A. with an investment management company. Aside from work, I visited tourist attractions such as the Santa Monica pier, Griffith Observatory, and Runyon Canyon. I also participated in L.A.’s restaurant week, DineLA–the food was amazing! After my internship, I went to Yosemite with my family, where we went hiking and saw beautiful scenery. Overall, great summer!

amcAdriana: This summer I had the opportunity to help my high school robotics team with their summer bootcamp. I was able to teach prospective robotics students how to safely use power tools. It was great to get to know each student and to see them become more confident as they learned new skills. I also went to the Maker Faire, and got to see some amazing contraptions and projects, including modified toy car races, which were pretty incredible.

srSeana: I went to Thailand for three weeks this summer, mostly to see my dad who lives there. Since my dad is fluent in Thai and has a lot of Thai friends, my boyfriend and I got to experience Thailand from less of a tourist’s perspective and more of a local’s. We traveled to beautiful islands and beaches, saw the most incredible sunset ever, explored a few of Thailand’s famous wats (Buddhist temples), met wonderful people, and ate some delicious food. Overall, it was amazing!
