Diverse Paths to Entrepreneurship

For those who believed entrepreneurship was for technocrats in Silicon Valley, we challenge you to think again. Diverse Paths to Entrepreneurship will bring together panelists from a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and disciplines, who are disrupting the status quo, be it in the market, society, or the environment.
Learn about how an Economics professor here at CMC is now an entrepreneur, how women are being empowered to take risks in the market, how scientists can make great entrepreneurs, and how you can do well and do good by being either a commercial or social entrepreneur.

Sage Tank Workshop #2: The Plan

Pomona Ventures is hosting Sage Tank in SCC 217 on May 3 (part of Alumni Weekend), during which students like yourselves will have the chance to pitch your business ideas to experienced entrepreneurs and investors. Pomona alumni (the Sages) will judge the competitors and offer valuable advice, mentoring opportunities, and possible funding. In addition, Pomona Ventures will award a FELLOWSHIP to the top team to launch their start-up! Entrepreneurial-minded students of ALL LEVELS are welcome to participate.

Wednesday, March 12, will be our second (of five) workshops to prepare you for Sage Tank. This workshop will be led by Tim DeRoche, founder and president of DeRoche Consulting Group.

The Plan: Solidify your business idea with a formal written plan. We will provide instruction on the format and content. We’ll also begin discussing and developing the most important parts of your company, such as your executive team, target markets, and unique selling propositions.
