Join W-ACM as we explore some of the issues surrounding women in tech – from impostor syndrome, to biases in the classroom and workplace, to the advice to “lean in.” This will be an informal discussion in which we’ll share experiences and address questions like:

* What is the “f* you, I got mine” mindset? Do women in tech have a responsibility to sponsor other women?
* How do you feel about the label “woman” in titles like “woman founder” or “woman engineer?” Is it problematic to be recognized as a successful woman rather than as a successful person?
* Are there advantages to being a woman in tech? Is it “okay” to use those to your benefit?
* What does “cultural fit” really mean? Does it bias the interview process toward men?
* How is the link between technology and masculinity constructed?
* How do you handle situations in which teammates underestimate your abilities or devalue your contributions?
* How can men be effective allies in supporting women in tech? How can women?

It’s important that both men and women are part of the discussion so bring your friends, questions, and stories. All are welcome.
