Meet our Foreign Language Assistants

Zoe (French language assistant)

Zoe Struxiano (French Language Assistant)

Bonjour tout le monde,

I’m Zoe, the French Language Assistant at Scripps this year. I’m from Bordeaux, France, where I’m studying English at university.
As part of my role at Scripps, I teach French conversation classes and help students improve their speaking skills while discovering French language and culture. I’m very excited to meet new people here !
I also love dancing, watching movies, traveling, and spending time with my friends. I’m also always happy to discover new places and experiences. I look forward to meeting you all 🙂

Zlata Romanchuk (German Language Assistant)

Hallo!

My name is Zlata and I’m a new German Language Resident at Scripps College. I live in Berne, Switzerland, but I originally come from Ukraine. I’m still doing my B.A. at the University of Berne. I study English and Biology.

As German is also not my mother tongue, I know how challenging it may be to learn it. Therefore, my goal here is to make the process of learning German more interesting and fun for everyone! Bis bald, Zlata

Ilenia Tripodi (Italian Language Assistant)

Ciao!

My name is Ilenia, and I’m the Italian Resident Assistant at Scripps College this year. I’m from Monza, Italy. I have a Master’s Degree in Languages and Cultures for International Communication and Cooperation.

Aside from my passion for languages and cultures, I’m also a contemporary dancer. In my free time I love to read, bake and take photos. I’m so excited to help you practice your Italian and share my culture with you.

Ci vediamo presto!

Julia Moreno Morcillo (Spanish Language Assistant)

¡Hola a todos!

I’m Julia, the Spanish Language Assistant at Scripps College this year. I’m from Badajoz, a city in southwestern Spain, and I studied Translation and Interpreting at the University of Granada. During my degree, I also spent time studying in Bologna, Italy, and London, UK, which gave me the chance to experience different cultures and meet people from all over the world 🙂

I love traveling, discovering new places, and trying new things. I’m also a big basketball fan, and in my free time you’ll usually find me reading, watching a movie, listening to music, taking photos, going for a hike, spending the day at the beach, or planning my next trip. I’m really excited to be in California and to be part of the Scripps community! I’m looking forward to meeting you, practicing Spanish together, and getting to know all of you throughout the year. Come say hola!
